The difference between antioxidant 264 and antioxidant 703
Antioxidant 264 and antioxidant 703 are both antioxidants. What are their differences in properties and uses?
Phenolic antioxidant: antioxidant 264 also known as BHT molecular formula is c15h24o. Mainly as food additives can delay the rancidity of food. Melting point: 69-70.
Antioxidant 264
Hindered phenol antioxidant: the molecular formula of antioxidant 703 is c17h29no. Mainly used in rubber, synthetic resin, gasoline and oil antioxidant. Melting point 93-94.
Antioxidant 703
Phenolic antioxidant: phenolic antioxidant is the most widely used antioxidant in plastics with the largest amount. It has the characteristics of good antioxidant effect, high thermal stability, no pollution, no coloring, and good compatibility with plastics. As a basic phenolic antioxidant, 2,6-di-tert-butylphenol (BHT) is being used less and less year by year because of its low molecular weight, high volatility and yellowing. The consumption proportion of high molecular weight hindered phenols represented by 1010 and 1076 increased year by year, becoming the leading product in the phenolic antioxidant market.
Hindered phenol antioxidants: phenolic compounds with sterically hindered structure. The main types of chain terminated antioxidants. According to the number of hindered phenol functional groups in molecules, they are generally divided into mono hindered phenol and poly hindered phenol. Hindered phenol antioxidants are mostly used in plastic products, and show synergistic effect with phosphite, thioether and other auxiliary antioxidants.
